Payton Godsey, a junior at Oaks Christian High, won the girls varsity 3-mile race in 16;52.65 at the Marmonte League opener at Peppertree Park, helping the Lions finish runner-up overall behind Newbury Park by a 27-33 margin. Godsey produced the all-time girls mark on the 3-mile Peppertree layout.
