Lex Young and Leo Young, both Stanford-bound seniors from Newbury Park High, took the top two spots in the boys varsity 3-mile race at the Marmonte League opener at Peppertree Park. The siblings crossed the line almost simultaneously, with Lex Young being credited with a mark of 14:48.40 and Leo Young at 14:48.42, helping the Panthers sweep the top five spots in a 15-78 victory against Agoura. It will mark their only race until Oct. 8 at the ASICS Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park in Fresno.
